Nurse Consultant – Community Housing – Rumford (265)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Nurse Consultant is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and coordinating complex medical and psychiatric aspects of direct care of clients, providing related education and training to program staff.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides oversight of medication administration to clients.
  • Reviews client medical needs through chart reviews; documents quarterly reviews and manages completion of paperwork related to clients.
  • Utilizes the client's electronic health record (EHR) to ensure that documentation is complete, accurate, timely and meets regulatory and agency standards.
  • Conducts assessments of client acute illnesses through physical exams; assists staff and delivers appropriate and supportive daily care to the clients.
  • Responsible for ensuring that staff understands the medical needs and symptoms of the clients.
  • Provides on-going client education and support related to their illnesses, personal hygiene, and safety.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Duties require knowledge of nursing equivalent to completion of an Associate's degree in Nursing plus additional courses and three to five years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Maine. 

Absent a qualifying medical exemption and pursuant to Maine's Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate, being fully vaccinated as defined by Maine CDC, is a requirement for this position.

Must possess a valid State of Maine driver's license.
